The Beginning...

I have always loved quotes and sayings and most importantly scripture. I am not alone in this I know because there are entire books dedicated to the sayings of a single person or topic. Of course now you can "google" quotes and find pages of websites dedicated to it. I see quotes everywhere! On newsletters, email signatures, car bumpers, blogs and on and on the list goes. What makes us so interested in the words of others - enough to want to make them our own? I think it's because they make us laugh or maybe remember what is important or many times they give us that sense that we can be understood... that through this particular quote that we will post in the public places we share, a kindred spirit will identify with us or maybe that somehow, someone will understand the essence of who we are. We all long to connect with those words that help us to whisper, "this is who I am".
So the quote I chose is one that I found in scripture years ago and it is the one I have chosen for my own. The one that reminds me that at the core of who I am, past all the distractions and clutter I take on, I desire simplicity of heart and purpose.
So through this blog I invite you to join me on my journey for simplicity. I'm not sure where it will take us but being easily distracted, I'm sure we will travel down some rabbit trails (which usually end up in briars!) but more importantly as I clear the clutter out of my life, I hope you too will realize the parts of yours that whisper, "this is who I am".
